Radice: Rubino Bent Apple with Silver
Product Number: 002-030-3216
Departing somewhat from their conventionally Italian neoclassic shaping style, the Radices here offer this supple bent Apple. Quite sleek and trim of overall size and proportions, this piece could easily pass for the work of a classic French, though the combination of streamlined shank and stem combination and bulbous, almost Ball-like bowl does hint at its Italian roots. The finish, however, hearkens to the classic Anglo-French style — showcasing Radice's Rubino stain, which can't help but call to mind the Bruyere, here accented with a sterling silver wedding band. It's a gorgeous piece for those drawn to English and French classics but who perhaps are interested in Italian makers and appreciate the striking shaping style of the Italian school.-Truett Smith
