Radice: Silk Cut Billiard with Spiral Carving (G) Tobacco Pipe

Bearing a "G" stamp, denoting briars of particularly robust builds, this Billiard from Radice offers plenty of substance and girth for the hand to grip. The bowl here is tall and muscular, and it rises from a flat, sure-sitting heel at the fore of the composition. It's sheer height and mass overshadows the comparatively slender shank-and-stem arrangement that stretches out back. Lending further visual weight to the bowl, the shank and stem consist of a gradually diminishing taper that slenderizes the aft side of the composition. The stummel wears a dark rendition of the Silk Cut sandblast, which coaxes out waves of growth rings across the flanks of the bowl, while the shank is left smooth, stained a lighter color, and carved in a distinctive spiral pattern.
