Radice: Clear Billiard with Faux Bamboo (G) Tobacco Pipe

This Billiard from Radice bears one of the workshop's "G" stamps, denoting a hearty chunk of briar. The bowl here fills the hand with girth and thick insulating walls that conceal a chamber over two inches deep. In typical Italian neoclassical style, the bowl holds most of the visual weight within the composition, the shank and stem acting in more of a supporting role. The warm, auburn Clear finish dresses the stummel and highlights fine wisps of flame grain on either flank of the bowl, while the shank is stained a lighter color and carved to resemble two knuckles of natural bamboo.
