Radice: Clear Rhodesian Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-030-4200
Luigi Radice has been making pipes since 1961, when he worked for Castello, and left in the mid-'70s to found Caminetto with Peppino Ascorti. In 1980, he started the Radice brand, which has enjoyed its own popularity since. This Rhodesian, with a broad bowl and impressive grain, is an example of the more classically-inclined work coming out of the Radice workshop, now primarily run by Luigi's sons, Gianluca and Marizio. Said bowl sits atop a firm, pronounced heel and flares upward to a single beadline, following a languid arc as it does, before tapering gently to the rim. At the shank we see a touch of taper as it reaches toward a cumberland-like acrylic fitment which maintains a consistent girth to meet the black tapered stem.
