Radice: Sandblasted Morta Pot (GG) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-030-4510

In the 1960s and 70s, Luigi Radice worked at two of the most acclaimed Italian marques, Castello and Caminetto. After cementing himself as one of Italy's best pipe makers, he began to craft pipes with his sons under the family name. This Pot by Radice is crafted from morta, which is semi-petrified oak that has been submerged in peat bogs for thousands of years. One of the most notable differences between briar and morta is their grain patterns, as morta possesses a much more synchronous and geometric pattern than briar, seen here in a crisp, black sandblast. Additionally, the broad, cylindrical bowl is paired to a lengthy stem, which, in concert with the abbreviated tapered stem, bears a semblance to the Canadian shape.
