Radice: Silk Cut 'Collect' Acorn Tobacco Pipe

In the 1960s and 70s, Luigi Radice worked at two of the most acclaimed Italian marques, Castello and Caminetto. After cementing himself as one of Italy's best pipe makers, he began to craft pipes with his sons under the family name. This Acorn by Radice possesses a remarkably robust bowl for the shape, as they walls dramatically flare outward to the broad, elliptical rim, resulting in a hearty in-hand feel. Out back, the bent shank-and-stem arrangement tapers seamlessly from transition to bit, which drives compositional focus toward the bowl, a classic Italian design cue. Additionally, the stummel is dressed in a walnut stain and Radice's Silk Cut sandblast, revealing a striking pattern of rugged growth rings and fiery flame grain.
