Radice: Underwood Billiard Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-030-8128
In the 1960s and 70s, Luigi Radice worked at two of the most acclaimed Italian marques, Castello and Caminetto. After cementing himself as one of Italy's best pipe makers, he began to craft pipes with his sons under the family name. This Billiard by Radice is an excellent example of neoclassic Italian shaping cues. The bowl takes center stage in the composition, its thick walls and the rugged Underwood finish that dresses them driving one's eyes to the fore. Out back, the shank-and-stem arrangement's linear taper from the transition to the bit emphasizes the bowl's erect presence at the fore, creating a surprisingly dynamic composition. Additionally, the auburn-stained stummel is paired to a jet-black acrylic stem, which offers a comfortable clench.
