Radice: Rind Pot Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-030-8159
In the 1960s and 70s, Luigi Radice worked at two of the most acclaimed Italian marques, Castello and Caminetto. After cementing himself as one of Italy's best pipe makers, he began to craft pipes with his sons under the family name. Although the majority of Radice's Pots possess robust bowls and jutting heels, this Pot is a nimble and balanced rendition of the shape. The bowl presents a plump taper to the rim and is poised at the fore of a proportionally elongated shank, which both drives compositional focus toward the bowl and keeps the profile sleek. A jet-black acrylic stem rounds out the form, its short length and sleek taper completing the silhouette. Additionally, the stummel is dressed in the warm auburn stain and craggy rustication of the Rind series, save for the rim, which is dressed smooth for contrast.
