Radice: Rind Billiard Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-030-8160
With years of experience working for such style-defining Italian marques as Castello and Caminetto, Luigi Radice sought to apply his knowledge to crafting his own pipes, establishing the Radice brand in 1980. Joined by his father, Paolo, and his son, Gianluca, Luigi would further develop his distinctively bold shaping style within his family-run workshop. Featuring a robust physique, this Billiard from Radice is a handsome showcase of the workshop's Italian neoclassical sensibilities. Imbued with a touch of rotundity, the bowl stands at the fore of the composition with a subtle forward cant, formed by thick, straight walls traveling from the firm heel toward the flat rim. A muscular shank transitions from the bowl and carries a gradual, continuous taper into a jet-black acrylic stem, the arrangement emphasizing the prominent bowl upfront. Dressed in Radice's Rind rustication, the stummel offers a craggy, rugged texture for the hand to appreciate, complete with a dark, inky stain that keeps this pipe's palette reserved and refined.
