Radice: Rind Tomato Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-030-8173

In the 1960s and 70s, Luigi Radice worked at two of the most acclaimed Italian marques, Castello and Caminetto. After cementing himself as one of Italy's best pipe makers, he began to craft pipes with his sons under the family name. This Tomato by Radice possesses a plump, stout bowl, its walls tapering as they rise from the low-set waistline to the broad rim, which encircles a capacious chamber. Out back, the slender shank-and-stem arrangement showcases a subtle, progressive taper as it rises out of the transition, which terminates at a trim bit poised at a comfortable posture. Additionally, the stummel is dressed in a dark, ruby-tinged stain and a rugged rustication, offering a wealth of tactile appeal.
