Radice: 'Radice' Cutty Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-030-8198
In the 1960s and 70s, Luigi Radice worked at two of the most acclaimed Italian marques, Castello and Caminetto. After cementing himself as one of Italy's best pipe makers, he began to craft pipes with his sons under the family name. A shape we seldom see from Radice, this Cutty exudes old-school appeal. The supple, forward-canting bowl is poised atop a plump heel and a protruding heel spur, an homage to the style of vintage clay pipes. Out back, the rounded shank and tapered stem present a demure downward arc from transition to bit, creating a comfortable smoking posture and accentuating the dynamic stance of the profile. Furthermore, the stummel is dressed in a vivid contrast stain, highlighting thick streaks of grain in light and dark hues.
