Radice: Rind Stack (E) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-030-8367
One of the most recognizable marques in Italy today, the Radice workshop was founded in 1980 when Luigi Radice decided to embark on a new pipe making journey alongside his two sons, Gianluca and Marzio. Previously, Luigi made pipes for Castello, and before that, Caminetto. Under his new namesake brand, he offered high-quality pipes carved in the unmistakable Italian neoclassic style. He experimented with innovative new designs, new rusticating and carving styles, and oil curing; these innovations earned the brand the reputation they have today.
Inherently bowl-centric in composition, this Stack actually hews closer to its shape-chart standard counterpart than many other neoclassic Italian pieces. The towering bowl houses a deep chamber that, in combination with the ability to sit upright unassisted, makes this offering a great desk pipe. With its colorful brindle stem and dark, ruby-tinged rustication, this pipe has quite the striking color palette. The brindled stem is especially eye-catching with its juxtaposed ripples of dusky purple and vibrant turquoise.
