Randy Wiley: Galleon Bent Pot (44)
Product Number: 002-093-2474
Broad contours and easy flow: These features represent Randy Wiley's more classic (i.e. less sculptural) shapes, and such a style fits into the early era of American pipemaking which garnered influence from the Italian school, placing much of a pipe's visual weight toward the bowl. This bent Pot exemplifies that aesthetic, displaying a thick-walled bowl on the end of a comparatively trim and slender shank and stem combination. The design takes well to the rugged Galleon rustication, presenting plenty of texture while showing some elegance thanks to the rounded, smooth polished rim.-Truett Smith
