Randy Wiley: Patina Bent Billiard (77)

Product Number: 002-093-2518

Fitting well into Randy Wiley's penchant for bold, muscular forms, this robust bent Billiard provides plenty of palm-filling substance in hand. It's also one of the American carver's most traditional and conservative takes on the shape chart standard, forgoing any colorful acrylic stem patterns, accenting materials, or rugged finishing techniques. Instead, the briar was left smooth, dressed in a vibrant mahogany stain that tastefully illuminates all the magnificent flame grain that engulfs the tall, deep-chambered bowl. A subtle ridgeline wraps around the shank, creating a raised notch near the mortise while accentuating the deep transition. It's a subtle touch, yet showcases Wiley's penchant for whimsical shaping cues and unique line work.
