A beautifully shaped bent Dublin from Randy Wiley, this piece caters to the American carver's penchant for stout, robust designs, but keeps the relative proportions between the bowl and shank more balanced and consistent compared to his other neoclassic renditions. The transition is smooth and makes for a comfortable thumb rest when holding the piece, and the consistent taper of the shank and stem lend the aft side of this piece a graceful poise. The stummel is dressed in a traditional finish and decorated with a feather spot carving as part of this aptly named series, the mahogany stain revealing handsome grain.
