Randy Wiley: Galleon Bent Dublin (44) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-093-2828
Randy Wiley's pipes are generally informed by substantial bowls, with a proportionally smaller shank and stem, as indicated in this bent Dublin. Tall, hearty and capacious of chamber, the Florida carver has imbued the bowl with a Pot-like stoutness and subtle flare at the gently sloping rim. It's paired with an arcing shank and slightly downturned stem that offers a comfortable smoking posture in this surprisingly lightweight piece. Wiley has dressed the stummel in one of his dark, texturally alluring Galleon rustications that extends through the transition, while the remainder is smoothly stained an auburn hue for contrast. It's topped here by a golden, shimmering saddle stem that lends a further burst of color.
