Kent Rasmussen: Sandblasted Asymmetric Bent Brandy with Masur Birch Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-287-0186
Similar to the smooth-finished freehand in this same Rasmussen update, here is a shape that in one way is very smooth and clean in appearance, and yet which has a lot of play of asymmetry and motion worked into the balance and flow of the cross-section, from stem-base to rim. That said, of the two this is definitely the meatier shape; it has flow, it has flourish, and most of the curves are quite long, but even so there's substance as well, and it's arranged more densely here than in the freehand. That translates into how it feels in hand as well as how it looks, with a much firmer presence.
