Rinaldo: Triade Bent Dublin Sitter with Silver (3) (YYY)
Product Number: 002-031-0542
The Rinaldo brothers' penchant for stout proportions and smooth curves really comes to light in their renditions of the classic bent Dublin — lending the form an extremely comfortable feel in hand. This particular piece is perhaps the most sinuously bent and serpentine-esque take I've seen from Elio and Guido, the transition set low before ending at the elegantly bent stem. The deep transition offers ample room for the thumb to drape over while a flattened panel along the shank's base, directly underneath the transition allows this design to sit unassisted. The Rinaldos also shaped this briar block perfectly to maximize its grain potential with windswept flame grain engulfing the flanks and specks of birdseye populating the rim. Guido's skilled silver work is proudly displayed at the shank end, separating the jet-black acrylic mouthpiece from the chestnut stained stummel.- Jeffery Sitts
