This Freehand from the Rinaldo brothers is quite the organic piece, with a strong, gestural forward cant that brings to mind the Italian workshop's Scoop designs. Indeed, the bowl slopes up and forward from the heel, remaining somewhat compressed at the top, while the end reveals smooth, ruby-stained briar before the push-style, tapered stem takes over. Dressed in a dark sandblast, this Egea Collection pipe also displays wonderful grain patterns for visual and textural pleasure.
