Rinaldo: Triade Paneled Bent Dublin with Silver (2) (YYY) (Titania)
Product Number: 002-031-0661
A squat, low-slung rendition of the bent Dublin shape, this piece showcases Rinaldo's playful Pesaro style. Eight crisp facets encompass the bowl and lend it a muscular, architectural aesthetic, one that continues though the gently upturned shank and arcing tapered stem. The bowl's forward-ebbing momentum gives the piece a sense of dynanism in profile, enhanced by the sharp, angular point at the rim's fore. Though the bowl possesses most of the pipe's visual weight, the jet-black acrylic mouthpiece terminates at approximately the same height as the bowl for a sense of balance at both ends of the design. The stummel wears a smoky, dark chestnut smooth finish that accentuates the natural grain orientation of the briar, especially the hypnotic whorls of birdseye that spot the rim. A sterling silver accent at the shank end adds a dose of flash to the pipe's reserved color palette for further visual appeal.--Davin Hylton
