Robustly built, but still possessing a smooth, graceful flow, this Rinaldo bent Acorn proves that muscular proportions need not exclude a design from featuring a graceful sense of gesture. The transition is wide, leaving plenty of room to drape a thumb, and the shank is fluid, with a soft curvature and a flattened, ovoid build that firms up the flanks and provides a striking profile. The thick-walled, deep-chambered bowl is comfortably rounded in hand, and a good bit of bend keeps this pipe pretty manageable when left hanging in the jaw as well. Dressed in a lightly stained iteration of the Lithos rustication, the texture is intriguing, and matches well with the vivid yellow of the stem.
