Rinaldo: Lithos Billiard with Silver (2) (YY) Tobacco Pipe

Surprisingly, we haven't received many new straight Billiard renditions from Rinaldo that feature the Lithos finish. This relative uncommonness makes this piece interesting alone, though its curiousness does not end there, as its stummel is paired to a saddle stem, a rather rare accompaniment to this shape from the Italian workshop. The heel and transition are both nearly right angles, mirroring each other in sharpness, the bowl rising tall out of them both, topped with a broad rim that overlooks a capacious chamber. The stummel is finished with Rinaldo's Lithos rustication and stained a light mahogany, the craggy texture contrasting against a knot work band of silver that wraps around the shank end.
