Rinaldo: Triade Bent Egg (YY) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-031-0724
A uniquely shaped bent Egg from Rinaldo, this piece presents with a good deal of palpable forward momentum, this owed mainly to the sweeping fore of the bowl which works in tandem with a gentle forward lean to give the impression of a shape that's rushing onward. The aft wall of the bowl is taken in a good bit and not curved quite as much as the fore, furthering this speeding look and creating a transition wide enough for easy thumb draping. From out of this transition ebbs a trim shank which has been sharply upturned and pinched at the midsection, flaring out toward the end and coming to form a firm ridgeline that marks a taper to the face. A sunny yellow stem arcs gracefully out of this face, its base flared toward the bit to offer a bit of negative space at the junction, pulling some of the visual weight away from the bowl. Dressing the stummel here is a vibrant auburn stain which reveals bountiful birdseye across either flank of the bowl, contrasting the stem quite well and creating a lively and unmistakable palette that's sure to draw eyes wherever it's taken.
