Rinaldo: Triade Apple with Silver (2) (YYY) Tobacco Pipe

This hearty Apple fits right in with the Rinaldo brothers' fondness for stout proportions, the nearly palm-filling, forward-canting and rounded bowl housing an impressive chamber capacity within thick, insulating walls. Very subtly tapered and displaying a slight lift to the heel, it dominates the visual weight here, its mass contrasted by the comparatively more slender shank and tapered stem. Though the bowl is less spherical than many similar renditions from the Italian marque, it maintains a pleasant fit in hand. The stummel is dressed in the smooth Triade finish, the contrast-stained auburn hues revealing a wealth of fiery flame grain on all flanks, along with handsome birdseye populating the rim and underside. One of Guido's ornately designed silver bands further elevates this pipe, resulting in a refined demeanor.
