Rinaldo: Pasqualon Collection Cavalier (01) Tobacco Pipe

Displaying quite the striking silhouette, this is a playful interpretation of the Cavalier shape by the Rinaldo brothers. The forward-urging, robust Bulldog bowl is replete with twin beadlines and tapered rim, while a slender, paneled underside allows this design to sit sturdily. The shank-and-stem arrangement offers a comfortable clenching posture and showcases some stylized shaping around its base. This fully functional piece offers a removable shank cap with the silhouette of the great Pesarese poet Pasqualon, for whom this Collector piece is named, the Pesaro-based Italian brothers honoring one of their own. This piece wears a craggy partial rustication across much of its stummel, while the upper bowl has been dressed in a smooth finish, all of the briar stained a light auburn.
