Rolando Negoita: Sandblasted 'Conducta' Acorn
Product Number: 002-298-0213
Rolando Negoita continues to experiment with what shapes are possible in a reverse-Calabash configuration, here presenting us with the first Acorn-shaped Conducta we've ever seen from him. A softly formed, tapered bowl isn't the easiest thing to pair to an extra-stout shank I would imagine, and apparently Rolando's solution was to run with it, and make the shank extra stout — short and thick even by reverse-Calabash standards. Strangely enough, it worked. The resulting design is extremely compact in style, yet the balance looks natural, as does the transition — and it's all quite nice in hand.
Each of Rolando's "Conducta" pipes comes with its own tamper, featuring a clothes-pin like notch on one end — quite useful for holding a piece of paper towel or patch-cloth when it comes time to clean the shank's expansive internal condensation chamber.
