Rolando Negoita: Sandblasted 'Conducta' Bent Egg with Tamper
Product Number: 002-298-0223
The plump form of this bent Egg reminds me more than a bit of Rolando's own Gourd shape — sporting a fair amount of extra substance along the base and "cheeks," as well as a crisp sandblasted finish, also characteristic of that particular signature. It also happens to be one of Negoita's "Conducta" reverse-Calabash designs, however, and so sports a rather robust, meaty shank needed to house a fairly sizable, hollowed out internal chamber. The two (bowl and shank) join along a pinched transition, lending the composition a rather dynamic and forward silhouette in profile. As for the grain, it's a mix — an impressive mix, mind you, of craggy blasted birdseye and tightly-stacked, undulating rings.
