Rossi: Sera (8804) (6mm) Tobacco Pipe

Rossi's "8804" design, based on Savinelli's "804 KS" Canadian, is an impressively lengthy interpretation of the classic English shape — combining a soaring bowl to an extended oval shank, then paired to a comparatively shorter, tapered stem. The sides of the shank are accented by a pair of firm yet understated ridgelines that help give the shape a sturdy presence in hand while subtly contributing some extra textural diversity to the composition. The tall bowl caters well to the Italian marque's signature neoclassic approach to traditional shapes as the bowl garners much of the overall visual focus in relation to the shank and stem. This "8804" design is also notably a larger, bolder sibling to Rossi's "8802" Canadian, offering a more substantial take on the classic shape.

Introduced in 2022, Rossi's Sera series offers pipes in a rugged rustication and a rich stain of varying chestnut and mahogany hues. The dark presentation evokes the line's name — meaning "nightfall" in Italian — with the graduated tones calling to mind the onset of dusk. It's a reserved and stately presentation, lent added refinement by a trim metal accent along the shank end, and while the craggy rustication offers rugged appeal and everyday durability, the traditional color palette makes this Sera pipe fit for any and every occasion.
