Rossi: Piccolo (8626) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-577-21044
While Rossi features several bent Apples on their standard shape chart, this "8626" is their signature, archetypal rendition, aligning with Savinelli's "626" form. It's also the trimmest version offered by the Italian marque, presenting a leaner disposition compared to, say, the "8636" and leaning more into the traditional English style. Defined by a slightly bulging bowl, stretched heel and transition, and lithely bent stem, this iconic "8626" is a versatile piece of moderate size and natural in-hand feel — perfect for those interested in an Italian-made pipe but one of more restrained, classic proportions, and those slender, lightweight proportions are doubled in this Piccolo example.
The Italian tradition of pipe making has never lacked in regards to substantial pipes, and the shape charts of Rossi and Savinelli are considerably saturated with KS- and EX-sized briars that don't disappoint when it comes to palm-filling presence. However, not everyone desires hearty, larger forms, so Rossi presents the Piccolo line — a series devoted to petite Savinelli shapes now offered by Rossi. Dressed in the same rugged rustication as the Vittoria finish, the Piccolo series rounds out Rossi's portfolio, ensuring that Rossi pipes cater to all preferences.
-Truett SmithNote: While all of our other pipes are photographed individually, these are not, and you may expect some reasonable cosmetic variation between the example we've photographed and the pipe you've received.
