Quite a unique and lovely take on the Rhodesian shape from Ryan Alden, this piece combines soft Danish lines compressed into a fairly handy, compact package. Breaking it down, you'll notice a strong, Danish-style lifting heel and a pronounced, concave bevel to the rim, with the clean, well-defined beadlines forming a nice visual break between the two. The sweeping transition and near serpentine flow of the shank and stem really make for an elegant silhouette as well — yet one not without its own bit of stockiness and underlying muscularity, given the compressed length. Palette wise, Ryan's kept this composition entirely warm, finishing the briar in a dark, smoldering auburn contrast stain, matched by rich cumberland for the mouthpiece. A great little Rhodesian here.
