Ryan Alden: Sandblasted Cavalier (King of Clubs) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-777-0103

A unique design from Ryan Alden, this interpretation of the Cavalier does fit in with the Texas carver's often-seen curvaceous shaping aesthetic via its Tomato bowl. Low-lying and charmingly plump, it faces outward when this piece is stood on its flattened foot. A non-functioning Cavalier in terms of the airway going all the way through the bowl and ending in a removable cap, this piece suffers not for it. The roundness of the bowl is contrasted by the sleekness of the elongated, gently bent cumberland stem, the handsome vulcanite matching that of the aforementioned cap. The stummel is wearing a ruby-toned sandblast that unveils the briar's natural grain patterns, including some tightly stacked growth rings. The slightly chamfered, smooth rim is peppered with birdseye and wears a similar dark ruby stain. This is a fascinating piece by the American carver, who pleasantly continues to surprise with his generous talent.
