Ryan Alden once again demonstrates his proclivity for carving English classics with this timeless, iconic Foursquare design. Boldly rendered, the proportions here are generous while still displaying the form's traditional style. The bowl's corners are lent a touch more softness, while the lines of the gradually tapering shank and stem maintain a more structured, crisp disposition. The added dimensions are seen through the height and stoutness of the deep-chambered bowl and the lengthiness of the aforementioned shank-and-stem arrangement. The flattened underside allows this piece to sit sturdily upright while its light weight ensures a comfortable presence in hand. It's wearing one of the Texan artisan's crimson-hued sandblasts, showing off stunning ring grain, with the cumberland stem adding a gorgeous, complementing tone.
