Sam Adebayo: Sandblasted Billiard with Bakelite Tobacco Pipe

As the Production Supervisor at BriarWorks, Sam Adebayo works along some of the best American pipe makers to produce fine pipes at affordable prices, but he also fashions his own artisan pipes. Drawing inspiration from American greats like Todd Johnson and admiring the work of masters such as Tokutomi, Adebayo produces his own artisan line of pipes in a style all his own.

This straight Billiard is a fine representative of Sam's portfolio, with a muscular, forward leaning bowl defined by tall, tapering sides and a well rounded heel. The transition is gradual, leading to a stout, arrow straight shank paired to a sleek Bakelite saddle stem. Made for our 7th annual American Pipe Making Exposition, the theme of which is accent stems, this pipe comes suitably equipped with a Bakelite mouthpiece of swirling caramel and chocolate hues. It wears a stimulating sandblast and chestnut stain, accenting well blasted birdseye on both flanks to provide a pleasant presence in hand and an abundance of detail to admire.
