Sara Eltang pipes are all designed by Tom Eltang and fashioned by him and Johannes Rasmussen, the grandson of Poul Rasmussen and Anne Julie. The operation is a small artisan workshop, providing them the freedom to tweak designs so that even within the framework of a specific shape, the results are always unique. It's readily apparent in this bent Egg offering, the warm contrast stain beautifully highlighting the gorgeous grain that cascades down the bowl's flanks. Those flanks elegantly taper up the the plateau-crowned rim, which serves to further emphasize the inherent organicism of this flowing, graceful composition.
