The Sara Eltang line, named after Tom Eltang's daughter, offers the Danish carver's iconic finishing and shaping style at a price point more readily accessible compared to his artisan pieces. This saddle-stemmed Billiard, like all Sara Eltang pipes, was fashioned and finished by hand through a collaborative process between Tom and Johannes Rasmussen of Suhr pipes. A simple design, this piece showcases the soft lines and supple curves characteristic of Danish pipe making, with the bowl slightly rounded and forward-canted, with cheeking about the transition. It wears an alluring contrast stain to highlight gorgeous grain and has been rendered in a versatile, compact size, yet without having sacrificed chamber depth.
