Savinelli Autograph: Autograph Smooth Bent Billiard (6) (6mm) Tobacco Pipe

As a part of Savinelli's esteemed Autograph line, this bent Billiard was hand made from start to finish by one of the Italian marque's best artisans and is emboldened by the creative vision of that artisan alone. Being unconstrained by a shape chart allows for some very interesting shaping possibilities, something which can clearly be seen here, as the half-saddle stem contributes to the consistency of the shank's undercurve, coming to a hard stop just below the transition. At this point we see a rather angular turn into the heel, traveling straight before swiftly sweeping upward into the bowl's fore wall, ascending over two inches to create a towering and imposing profile. The transition is wide and allows for the easy draping of a thumb, and additionally holds the eye, as the visual weight of this pipe is quite balanced, owed to the fairly thick shank's slow taper to the stem base, and reasonable length. A warm, vibrant contrast stain dresses the stummel here, showcasing a dense, beautiful pattern of windswept flame grain wrapping the stummel, with birdseye on top of the shank and plateau crowning the rim.
