Savinelli Autograph: Artisan Bent Billiard (6mm) Tobacco Pipe

Savinelli's Autograph line of pipes feature pieces made by a single artisan from start to finish, with shapes that allow the craftsman to express their creativity free from the confines of the Italian marque's shape chart. This bent Billiard leans toward the more conservative end of that spectrum, with a proud, tall bowl paired to a low-lying shank-and-stem combination, the latter given a demure downturn and the former offered a slight bit of angle thanks to a wide transition. The bowl also features a bit of curvature toward the fore, starting at the heel and sweeping upward toward the rim, while the aft side remains mostly straight, save for a tad bit of outward bow near the middle. Muscular and stout, the bowl quite easily holds nearly all of the visual weight of the composition, aided in this due to the svelte construction of the shank and stem, the balance they offer quite welcome. The stummel is dressed in a deep chestnut stain that reveals handsome grain throughout, and offers an overall aesthetic that is quite classic.
