Savinelli Autograph: Autograph Smooth Bent Dublin (0) (6mm) Tobacco Pipe

This bent Dublin from Savinelli Autograph has been crafted from select blocks of briar by artisans who are encouraged to create unique works not seen on standard shape charts. It's also branded with a lesser seen "0" grading stamp, among the workshop's highest, denoting pipes of superior quality, shape and grain. Shape-wise, the towering, palm-filling bowl flares from a firm heel toward its asymmetrical rim that's crowned in craggy, texturally pleasing plateau. It's set to a round, thick shank that continues the bowl's muscularity and is topped by a slender, acrylic stem. This piece is wearing one of the Italian workshop's handsome honey-blonde finishes, showing off gorgeous, tight-knit tendrils of vertical grain on all sides, the striations ascending from the heel and fanning out in cohesion. It's a testament to the artisan's keen eye for selecting the choice briar that turns out a pipe such as this and shaping it to highlight its beautiful grain in the best way possible.
