Each Savinelli Autograph piece is individually handcrafted from select blocks of briar by one of the marque's experienced artisans, who are given complete creative freedom to follow their personal vision. The results are always distinctive and eye-catching, as this Cutty can attest. The Cutty is a rare design among the Autograph series, with this being only the second one we've ever received. It's a lengthy, robust design, with a tall, forward-canted bowl that houses a tobacco chamber over two inches in depth. This piece retains the shape's heel spur, which hearkens back to the days of old clay pipes. The spur enables the piece to sit sturdily without the aid of a stand. Perhaps the most stunning part of this piece is the grain. The warm, golden-blond smooth finish that dresses the stummel showcases neat tendrils of flame grain on all flanks of the bowl and fetching birdseye across the softly inflated rim. It's no wonder this piece received the line's "0" grade, denoting pipes of exceptional grain, shaping, and quality.
