Savinelli Autograph: Artisan Bent Dublin (6mm) Tobacco Pipe

As part of Savinelli's Artisan line, this bent Dublin was handcrafted by one of the Italian workshop's most experienced carvers from select blocks of briar. While the pipes in the Autograph and Artisan series are often rather whimsical in terms of their shaping, this piece is a fairly traditional interpretation of the pipe-chart standard, albeit in bowl-centric, neoclassical proportions. The tall, thick-walled bowl rises at the fore of the composition and overshadows the comparatively trim shank-and-stem arrangement that stretches out back. The shank, as it glides from the low-set transition, expands across its length to a wide face, a shaping cue that mirrors the bowl's flare to its softly inflated rim and creates a sense of visual harmony at either end of the stummel. Dressed in a warm smooth finish, the piece showcases fine streaks of flame grain across the flanks of the bowl and a wealth of birdseye across the rim.
