Savinelli Autograph: Autograph Freestyle Partially Sandblasted Bent Billiard (6mm) Tobacco Pipe

Coming to us from Savinelli's Autograph series, each example of which is handmade by a single one of the Italian marque's in-house artisans who are free from any shape chart, this Freestyle bent Billiard is quite unique. The stem here is a trim taper of black acrylic that meets a lenticular shank, a pair of soft ridgelines plunging through the flanks and through to the heel, wrapping around and dipping down to create a sharp spur. A wide transition leads to a hearty bowl which rises to over two and a half inches in height, the rim which crowns it softly inflated and surrounding a large, deep chamber. A partial sandblast dresses the briar here, the blast itself covering the aft portion of the bowl and descending to meet the ridges just before the underside. This adds a good bit of visual separation at the bowl in concert with the rest of the stummel's light mahogany stain, as if the bowl were ringed with a ridge of its own.
