Savinelli Autograph: Autograph Smooth Bent Dublin (000) (6mm) Tobacco Pipe

Savinelli's Autograph line offers quality pipes that are handcrafted from start to finish by one of the marque's most talented carvers. Those carvers are given complete creative freedom and allowed to follow their personal artistic vision, and the pipes in the line are fashioned from select blocks of briar. The pipes in the series are graded from "3" at the lowest end to "Extraordinaire" at the highest end. The "000" grade is the second highest of these ratings, and we've only seen a few shapes with that grade at the Smokingpipes offices, making this bent Dublin especially rare. It's a massive, palm-filling briar with a flaring bowl that looks almost Fan-like. The sides of the bowl are compressed and the broad rim is covered in a ridge of craggy plateau. The bowl, in typical Italian neoclassical style, overshadows the long, boxy shank-and-stem arrangement that trails out back and curls downward for a comfortable smoking posture. A warm, honey-hued smooth finish dresses the stummel and gorgeously highlights the fine strands of flame that rest on the flanks of the bowl. The bowl houses an impressive chamber capacity, which should ensure plenty of long, leisurely smoking sessions with this masterfully executed briar.
