Savinelli's Autograph line produces well-executed, completely handmade pieces from select, aged briar, allowing for more creative designs due to their artisans' freedom from the shape chart. This Poker is rather handy, coming in at just a bit over five inches long and displays shaping that's a good bit more conservative compared to other pipes produced by this series. In this rendition, the angled, flattened heel allows it to sit sturdily, while the bowl displays a slight forward tilt. The shank-and-stem arrangement lift up from a low-set transition, drawing the eye to the heel which is actually slightly more taut than the rim. Dressed in a smooth auburn finish, with the briar's natural grain patterns peeking through, this is a most charming pipe with a respectable chamber capacity, given its moderate size.
