Savinelli Autograph: Autograph Smooth Bent Dublin (6) (6mm) Tobacco Pipe

As a part of Savinelli's Autograph series, this bent Dublin represents the handiwork of a single one of the marque's best artisans, hand made from start to finish using specially-selected briar that displays the best possible grain. Certainly a Freehand-inspired piece, the bowl of this pipe showcases a reserved flare from the rounded heel to the rim, with the aft wall kept flat while the fore and flanks present with a semi-ovoid build. The flatness of the aft wall keeps the transition wide and open, leaving plenty of room to drape a thumb and maintaining a comfortable feel in hand. The entirety of the shank is a square, paneled affair whose face is slanted rearward and whose build takes on a slight lift out of the transition, with the stem married to it being a demurely curved taper of black acrylic with a slant to its base's expansion ring that mirrors the direction of the shank face. Dressing this piece is a vibrant auburn-mahogany stain that reveals dense streaks of wrapping flame grain flowing through the flanks of the stummel, while the rim and underside are peppered by birdseye.
