Savinelli's Autograph pipes showcase the work of a single one of the marque's talented artisans, free from the restrictions of a shape chart and able to freely express their creative vision. This Volcano is unlike many that we've seen from the series before, presenting with an uplifted shank that's slightly more extended than we're used to seeing and that's absent a wrapping ridgeline. The ridge here exclusively frames the bottom of the bowl, creating a base and supporting the low-set waist while seeing the growth of walls that take on a forward-leaning taper to the rim. A bit of briar pushes out from the base and lends the heel a rounded look, though the bowl as a whole is quite squat in appearance. Dressed in a vibrant ruby-auburn stain, the stummel here showcases some handsome grain throughout, with impressive birdseye above and underneath.
