Handcrafted by Savinelli's most skilled artisans, the Autograph line falls outside of the Italian firm's usual shape chart, offering pipes that are singular and quite unique, as evidenced by this bent Dublin. Unlike usual renditions of the form, this piece boasts a bowl with a dramatically cinched waistline, which accentuates the visual disparity between the taut, rounded heel and the wide, oval rim. In typical Italian neoclassical fashion, the bowl here holds most of the visual weight within the composition, its dramatic height and muscular build overshadowing the oval shank and tapered stem that stretch out back. Dressed in a crisp, dark sandblast, the stummel displays some handsome growth rings, which radiate up the flanks of the bowl and terminate at the birdseye-speckled rim.
