Savinelli Autograph: Autograph Freestyle Panel Partially Sandblasted Paneled Bent Dublin (6mm) Tobacco Pipe

Anytime I see a Savinelli Autograph Freestyle pipe, I know I'm in for something special and unique. Each Autograph is handmade by a single artisan using only select quality briar and these artisans are encouraged to explore their creativity, without having to adhere to any sort of shape chart. However, I feel that it's Freestyle offerings like this that best encapsulate the skill and imagination of the carver who crafts them, effortlessly blending traditional and playful shaping cues. The flared Dublin bowl exhibits a strong degree of forward cant and is partially finished in a dark sandblast, the midsection striated by its crisp texture and warm undertones. This sandblasting is sharply separated from the smooth finish of the flanks thanks to the stummel's striking paneled aesthetic, with both flanks being flat, while the fore and aft walls of the bowl and the rim are lent just a bit of curvature. The result is a fantastically muscular and geometric shape that showcases vast swathes of auburn-tinged flame grain on the left and right sides, making this a particularly fine example of what Savienlli's Autograph series has to offer.
