Savinelli Autograph: Autograph Sandblasted Freehand (6mm) Tobacco Pipe

Savinelli's Autograph is the Italian marque's limited-production, handmade series, utilizing specially aged extra-extra plateau briar and being crafted by only three of the brand's most experienced carvers. From start to finish, the process of crafting a single one of these pipes is handled by a single one of these veteran craftsmen, the series providing them with design freedom and allowing them to express their personal creativity. This particular piece is a hearty Freehand that reaches out to more than six and a half inches in length, its outline one which showcases sharp angles throughout. A tightly-knit transition gives way to a flaring, rearward-slanting shank that's capped with plateau, paired here to a demurely curved and stylized stem of sunny acrylic. The bowl flares out from a sharp heel to a broad rim that dips low at the fore, itself crowned with plateau, and these walls showcase fluted channels curving through the flanks. Full of unique shaping and rife with charm, this piece comes dressed in a crisp, darkly-stained sandblast that reveals a stunning display of grain throughout the stummel.
