The Savinelli family's legacy began when Achille Savinelli opened a humble tobacco and pipe shop in 1876, by 1948, Savinelli was one of the largest pipe manufacturers in the world. Savinelli typically adheres to their traditional shape chart, but Savinelli's Autograph line focuses on freehand shapes crafted from their finest burls of briar and individually hand-carved by a few select artisans. This bent Pot Sitter from Savinelli Autograph's Artisan series features a robust, almost-rectangular bowl that is situated between an inflated rim and protruding underside. Out back, the bent shank-and-stem arrangement rises upward before the acrylic tapered stem flattens parallel with the rim, providing a comfortable clench. Dressed in a wiry, jet-black rustication, the stummel provides plenty of intriguing texture for one's fingers to explore.
