The Savinelli family's legacy began when Achille Savinelli opened a humble tobacco and pipe shop in 1876, by 1948, Savinelli was one of the largest pipe manufacturers in the world. Savinelli typically adheres to their traditional shape chart, but Savinelli's Autograph line focuses on freehand shapes crafted from their finest burls of briar and individually hand-carved by a few select artisans. This bent Dublin from the brand exudes organic appeal, its sweeping profile instantly reminding one of the Fan shape. The bowl is quite trim at the flanks, but blossoms outward from the chamber toward the fore and aft, creating a elliptical rim that displays a rugged swath of plateau. The shank functions in a similar manner, rising out of a trim transition before flaring to a shank face pebbled with plateau, the parallel shaping making the stummel innately cohesive. Additionally, the flanks showcase stunning grain, with flame grain rising from the underside while undulating growth rings circle the stummel. The composition is topped off with a flashy stem of white acrylic, an elegant complement to the chestnut stain.
